What is the difference between a pet portrait and a pet caricature?
Traditionally, a pet portrait is a realistic painting of your pet. A pet caricature is a comical, amusing or entertaining depiction of your pet based largely on it’s personality while emphasising your pet’s individual physical traits. The pet caricatures produced by my studio have the sense of whimsy and exaggeration of caricature blended with a realistic rendering approach, producing a truly unique piece of art. My studio’s pet portraits take on a more true to life approach, infusing your pet’s personality into a life-like quality portrait.
What medium do you use to make the paintings and sketches?
All of my art is produced digitally, using painting applications such as Photoshop or Painter. I prefer the medium due to it’s quick nature and ease of cleanup. This also allows your caricature to be printed easily on such items as canvases and prints!
Ordering
Go to the Order page and select the “Add To Cart” button for the option you prefer. If you have more than two pets you would like in the same piece, then be sure to select the “Add A Pet” option for each additional pet. You will be redirected to complete your payment securely via PayPal.
After payment has been processed, you will receive confirmation of payment. Within 48 hours, my studio will email you and collect the information about your pet, including reference pictures. After the information has been collected, work will begin on the portrait or caricature of your pet. After completion, your illustration will be made into the option you selected (a print or canvas giclee) and shipped to the address provided when you submitted your payment.
Custom Orders
If you would like a different option from the ones provided (ex: various paper sizes, types of paper, greeting/Holiday cards, ect), you can email me your custom options and my studio will get back to you within 48 hours with a quote.
Gift Vouchers
Select a gift voucher option from the Order page. Be sure to select the “Add A Pet” option if you would like to add additional pets to the gift voucher. When completing the payment information, supply the address of the recipient receiving the gift voucher. If unknown, leave your address in the field and after payment has been completed, my studio will contact you for information about the gift recipient. An email will then be sent to the recipient alerting them that they have a gift voucher available. Gift vouchers expire a year after purchase.
Turn Around
This varies depending on my schedule and the number of orders my studio has at any given time. Typically, orders can be completed in 2-4 weeks. Rush orders are available at an extra cost.
Cost
Sketches are $25 for up to two pets. Select the “Add another pet” option for each additional pet you would like to add to the sketch. Additional pets are $15 for sketches.
Paintings are $150 for up to two pets. Select the “Add another pet” option for each additional pet you would like to add to the painting. Additional pets are $50 for paintings.
Custom orders can vary in cost depending on the needs of the customer. Email me for a quote.
Payment
Payment for options on the Order page are handled securely through PayPal, which allows payment via major credit and debit cards. Payment for prints in the Shop are handled securely through Fotomoto, all major credit cards are accepted.
