Breed Ambassador

Is your pet ready to be the next Breed Ambassador? All you have to do is submit for their chance to become the face of your pet's breed in my Pet Print 🐾 lineup!

How to Enter

  1. Check over the Breed List ✅ Scroll down to make sure your breed isn't already completed or in the queue. With nearly 1200 different dog, cat and horse breeds, I have a lot of catching up to do and want to get through a base list of breeds before repainting a breed that's been done!
  2. Sign the Photo Release Form ✍️ This allows me to use your photos as reference in order to create your pet's likeness! I do not paint over photos. I use the same process as traditional media starting with a blank canvas and go from there- I just paint with pixels instead!
  3. Send photos of your pet ✉️ Be sure to send photos of your pet to char@charreed.com. You don't need to be a professional photographer. Mainly I just need clear photos of your pet's features and face especially, then I can reference the photos to create a new painting.

This all allows me to get started on the next Breed Ambassador as soon as I can. My hope is to have a new breed to share with you every week!

FAQ

Does my pet need to be a show line animal or even 100% purebred?

Your pet doesn't need to be a show pet or 100% purebred to enter. The main thing is that they look like a typical representation of their breed. I will use their likeness (with possibly some modifications) to create a breed portrait for my line of Pet Prints. This will get you a print that, while it may not be exactly like your dog, would be very very close to it without getting a custom commission.

Can I give you feedback on the portrait?

Breed Ambassadors allow for a close approximation of your pet for a fraction of the price of a custom portrait. Custom Commissions allow for your feedback, input and ability to make changes for the final product. As such, I will be using your pet's likeness merely as a guide and reference for a typical represenation of the breed. If there are aspects of your pet that don't fit the breed standard, it may be changed in order to be more generalised to appeal to other pet owners. Because of this, no feedback will be accepted on the outcome of the final piece. 

Does my pet need to be a dog, cat or horse?

Oh no, not at all! I would love submissions of pets that are outside of that range. Extension to other non-pet animals entirely is possible too, as long as you took the photos of the animal depicted! I love all animals and will take any excuse to draw them :)

Do I need to get a print once the Breed Ambassador portrait is finished?

No, there isn't any obligation to buy a print, but if you do, you get a discounted price!
